growing up hawk babies + a birthday tease

This picture above was taken on May 2oth....The three Baby's were still spending quite a bit of time together...no longer in the nest, though they may have been there at night, but on these two trees on my neighbors property which is much much closer than the nest tree.....
I love catching the baby's taking off or landing or just flexing their wings......This picture above really pleased me because the sun was going down behind the baby's and the light was so interesting coming through the feathers.....

I am just looking at all my Birthday pictures and it will take a little bit of time to get everything arranged the way I want it. Then I will post all about the "Ladies Who Lunch"....Meanwhile, here is a little teaser..... This is the most creative beautiful Flower Arrangement I've ever seen....This was sent to me by dear Terri, at Island Writer...(Cedar Key, Florida) and she sent it from my favorite Artist-Florist Van, from 'The Conservatory'....It is so original in this BEAUTIFUL Box....And all Pastel Colors---my favorite...! Here below is a side view..... Aside from the fact that the flowers are just gorgeous, this box is a work of art, too! Such a lovely wonderful gift, dear Terri....Thank You, Thank You, Thank You....This is just a little tease to whet your appetite about the "Celebration".....So, very soon, there will be......

More To Come.......

What a wonderful view you have of those dear hawks. I'm so glad you keep updating us about them.

Oh WOW! I must say....Van OUTdid himself this year for me! I told him, "do a good job for Naomi" and he laughed and said he'd take care of us. This really IS outstanding, Naomi! I'll have to call him on Monday with mega thanks. His artistic ability overwhelms me! And I LOVE that old-fashioned box! How'd he know I love antique things....I'm so impressed with his creativity!
And you deserved all of it, so DO enjoy!
Best to you with much love,
Terri

I've never seen a flower arrangement like that before...in such a beautiful box. The flowers themselves are gorgeous, and then you get to keep the box for always. What a sweet gesture. I hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration!

That photo of the baby hawk taking flight is spectacular!! It's like it came from the pages of National Geographic.

I don't think I've ever seen a floral arrangement in a box. I've seen them in teapots, but not a decorative box. It is neat that after the flowers are gone you will be able to use that pretty box.

What beautiful blooms! Arranging them in that lovely box is a wonderful idea and they look gorgeous! It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday which is wonderful. I am looking forward to reading all about it :)

I think most people seemed to get the date wrong of my birthday or forget this year (including one of my brothers and one of my sisters). But I still had a nice day.

I am glad the card I sent arrived in time and I do hope your gift arrives soon. It is just a fun little thing and I will explain what the things are inside if you can't work out what they are for as they are more than just decoration!

Thank you for your belated birthday wishes :) I can understand your 'good' exhaustion as I was suffering from it this weekend with my birthday and having come back from Edinburgh late the day before.

Your hawk pics are wonderful. I also like the way the low light is shining through the open wing. Beautiful :)

I think the hawk photo may be the best one yet. You get better and better.
I think only a woman could send such a beautiful arrangement. I'm not grumbling - I've just had 15 red roses for one of our many anniversaries. Why 15 I don't really know.
It does take time to arrange photos and you do it so much better than I do. Looking forward to the lunch but don't rush.
