There are things happening, but nothing to talk about. So.....instead, I am sharing some "Rose" pictures with you.......What is more beautiful than a Rose?
Another Rose.....! And these pictures were taken after I had these gorgeous flowers for four days.....Of course, the wonderful Van made the arrangement and this was given to me by my very dear Grand/Great Niece, Laurel Cohen......(Never sure which is correct).......
Above....a lovely pale Rose with a touch of lavender in the middle.....So very elegant and restrained in this very beautiful way.....Laurel got me these flowers for the 'Family' gathering I had, back in October....I was pretty sick, but went ahead anyway....It was a rare opportunity to see some family that I might not see again---with age and infirmities---this is a far piece to come if you live on the other coast, which many of the family do----especially with travel being so difficult now.....
Ahhhhh.....another beauty above......These were all such perfect Roses in every way......And I was very touched that Laurel went to the trouble to order these flowers for me---And from my favorite florist Van.....Laurel had flown in from Chicago. Her parents Nancy and Danny Cohen had driven down from Davis, CA, with their other daughter and my other Great/Grand Niece, Sarah.....Danny is my late sister Robin's middle child.....And his Father, Bob Cohen, (Who I had not seen for almost twenty years), had flown in from Boston, as did Robin and Bobby's dear daughter Debbie and her two children, Maya and Jesse......
Above, my favorite of all the Roses, I think---Well, in truth, I love them all.....But, the varied colors of this one just took my breath away.....Robin and Bobby's oldest son, Michael and his wife Dianna had come from upstate New York....and two of their sons were here as well---one with his little seven year old daughter---so she would be Robin's Great Grandchild and my Great Great Niece?? Who knows.....And.....my brother Gordon and his wife Michelle were here from Connecticut, and one of his daughters came with her husband from Colorado. Because I was feeling so very poorly---I took no pictures. Other people did take pictures, but I have not seen any of them, as yet.....When I get them----IF, I get them, I will definitely share them with you......
And last.....a gathering of Roses and some other pretty flowers, too.....Van worked his 'magic', as always and it was like that day---the magical gathering of 'family'........More To Come..........

At my last job a co-worker started bring me a rose from her garden every couple of days. She carefully wrapped it in a wet paper, bagged the bottom, and carried into our office building across town, by bus. We were a cross in the halls, "Hi," co-workers. Her husband's name was Donald Sutherland and she had a very curved back. I will never forget her kindness. My favorite was her "JFK rose" that was all white with a red spot on it. Her hobby was raising unique roses. There is just something about a rose...somehow reminding us of beauty in the midst of an often brutal event we call LIFE.

Getting those beautiful flowers must have been a lovely surprise for you, so something nice has happened this week.
Roses are one of my favourite flowers, it is just a shame that they generally last for such a short time, but never mind, I do appreciate the sheer beauty of a delicate rose, whilst it lasts.
Also, I don't know whether this is the same in the US as over here in the UK, but I find that cut roses that are purchased from a florist generally have little or no scent to them?
Your photos are fantastic as always and a permanent reminder of that lovely family gathering.

I think that each of those exquisite roses represents a precious family memory... especially with so many family members coming together from all ends of the country. It sounds like it was a wonderful gathering of family members who had not seen each other for a long long time.
I'm happy that you were able to take part, even though you weren't feeling well. Thankfully you are feeling better now.
