hello

The Golden Years.....lol! I always say, whoever coined that phrase, Never Got There....! I thought this cartoon was funny....Hope you do too....!
I thank all of you for your very sweet, caring and supportive comments---it means so very much to me.....But taking a break is what I need to do for now, though I couldn't let today go by without acknowledging my dear departed brothers Birthday. Gordon would have turned 83 today.....It is still so hard to believe he is gone. I miss you so very much, my dear dear brother.

More To Come......(maybe).......

Hello Naomi: All I can say is.... enjoy your break. You know we will all miss you. So I hope you will come back to blogland inspired and rested and ready to tell us more of your fascinating memories. Blogging is somewhat addictive, so I'm hoping you won't stay away for long.
Hugs to you!

I'm sure this is a sad day for you; I always find birthdays and anniversaries especially tough and all the more so in the early years.

I hold you in my heart and send wishes for health, peace, healing and restoration. And I hold wishes that you will return to us, either returning sometime to your blog or visiting ours.

One thing to share. I have a new cat friend. Elizabeth Cosette (after the Queen, often called Lizzie or Lilibet) and Cosette after the orphan in Les Miserables, taken in by Jean Valjean (or in this case, Jeanie ValJeanie). She's not Gypsy. Not in any way. And my heart still aches. But it also is diverted. A start.

Please take care, my friend.

From your stories of him, he was a beautiful man, inside and out.

I wish I had such a good brother. You have had much love. I love you. You have loved and been loved--there is no greater life lived. My thoughts are with you every day.

Gordon was the brother I always wanted. Since he wasn't mind, I'm glad he was yours.

I know how much your brother meant to you and I can't imagine what it's been like not having him close at this time in your life. I am sending you virtual {{{{{HUGS}}}}} my dear friend and lots of LOVE ♥ from me to you...from Miami to your home in the hills!

Keep those memories alive, Naomi! Always remember the good old days and the warmth and love you received from family and dear friends. These feelings will always stay with you, my friend.

Btw, the cartoon is hilarious. Reminds me of a friend we have who was pulled over by a cop for going through a red light. She was already at the gas station ready to get gas when the police officer approached her car. She looked at him and said, "Fill it up!" lol This was years ago but the story always makes me smile. Hope it brought a smile to YOUR face today.

Wishing you a beautiful day in the Hills!!

Lovely B+W picture.

As for the cartoon, maybe that's why we don't have drive by post boxes here in the UK.

I am glad to know you are still around. I agree whole heartedly with the "golden years" stuff..they forgot to mention that "the golden years are ages 30-50" after 60 it's all downhill.. just a matter of how fast !

we never forget our brothers. I could never forget my brothers b'day either..it helps that it is on St Patricks Day and he always made a big stink about it lol.

stay around if you can.. every now and then ..i'll take what little you give.

I saw Lee's name somewhere (probably a convention) and remembered the ladies that lunch.. I hope they come around even if you don't blog about them...I miss you ALL even though I "don't know you all" :o)
hugs Naomi

I accidentally wore my red flipflops to church last Sunday - I couldn't believe I did that. I told my friend - it's starting. :)

Enjoy your break, but I hope you keep blogging at some point. I always enjoy your posts. And it's lovely that you gave this tribute to your brother. (((HUGS)))

Dear Naomi, I know how much your brother meant to you and how much you love him and he loves you too.
You are always in my thoughts...
Love the two photos, principally the photo of you and Gordon as a child. So cute you both!

Just funny the cartoon! It makes me
laugh.

Hope you have a pleasant Sunday.
Many hugs and much love.

It is hard to lose a brother. I know it'll be tough if I go before mine. I hope it gets easier for you as time goes on. Life is hard for those who live into those 'so-called' golden years. We just have to do the best we can with it and maybe appreciate that at least they didn't have to be the ones going on without us.

Brothers are the best aren't they? It is understandable you miss him so and it is just how it should be. His passing has left a big hole in your life. And the suddeness was a shock too. I know when my Dad passed away his sister was very sad. As th eolder they go the closer they became. You have to go through the grieving process for as long as it takes. You will meet up with him again Naomi. I really believe that.

What little cuties you both were. Surprisingly you both did not change either. Sometimes people as adults look nothing like their childhood pictures. You two look the same. It is wonderful you have so many photos and memories. You were lucky to have a fine brother who loved you and looked after you. And you him. Of course you will miss that until you meet up with him again.

And I love the cartoon. As my mum says old age isnt for cissies, and aint that the truth.
