viewing time

It's that time of year, again. As a member of the Television Academy, I, once again, signed up to judge a number of panels......5, to be exact.
The DVDs have started to arrive and so I will be deeply involved in this always fascinating but time sensitive and time consuming commitment, for the next couple of weeks....
I am in a bit of 'shock' by the panel that arrived today....It entails watching more than 25 hours of stuff---in fact, if I'm not mistaken, closer to 30 hours.
That's just in ONE category.
So you can see I have my work cut out for me!
I very much enjoy this process and also, I take it very seriously.
This is the final step in the Voting. These panels decide who actually takes home that coveted Emmy Award in the many different and varied categories.......
So.....if I don't get around to visiting everyone.....Forgive me, please....And if I don't get around to updating my blog.....I hope you all will also understand......

More To Come......

Wow, watching TV with a voice in the outcome. How neat is that.
You will have your days full Naomi. When I watch the awards, I will know you had a hand in the outcome.
Have fun.

I watched the videos of Edye Gorme you had in you last post – what a talent! I remember watching her and her husband numerous times on television.

So you will be busy, my dear, but I know that it is a labor you enjoy. It certainly is creative as you have to pay attention and remember the good and not so good points in everything you see. It will be fun as usual to read your reviews.

Wow that's a lot of viewing in a short period of time but I'm sure you'll have fun. I look forward to hearing your comments. I want to write a post about a few films I saw on the plane. Nothing award winning though!

My problem would be sustaining concentration over such a period of time - but you are the professional.
Like all your readers I wait with eager anticipation to read your findings.

I've never known anyone who got to participate in something like this - how exciting! It will be fun to learn from you little tidbits about the process - and to see how you feel about the final results once they're tallied!

I can't wait to read your commentary! Your outstanding opinions have been a terrific guide in the past. Looking forward to your posts.

I have another question. There are some stars that I truly admire - Liz Taylor being one of them. Was she as good a person as she always appeared to be?

In this PR driven world sometimes I feel so many public figures are PR characters so what we see is not what really exists. I love your blog because you have met, know, or have been a part the lives of so many public figures, stars and even American history. Blog world may not realize it but we are so lucky to have you posting and I'm especially glad to be your follower.

also - I wanted to tell you that I met Edie Gorme when I was a kid
my aunts took me to a nightclub for my communion
yes, a nightclub in my communion dress and Edie noticed me and told them to let me come backstage after
she was wonderful

Happy voting! Watching what is on screen certainly beats reading the actual propositions we vote on. The people who write the synopsis- shall we say their product is too often fiction rather than the more appropriate documentary.
