no real news and mother's day

I have no real news
except that I am overwhelmed with taking care of health problems that just wear me out.
One bright spot in all this is that
Spring is here!
Some very sweet Mourning Doves have
cleaned up the old nest by my front door,
and have taken up residence---sitting on eggs.

24 Hours A Day!
It truly does my heart good!
And the Doves settling in is really how I know that Spring has arrived up here on my hill.

This is a nest that has been by my Carriage Lamp for years and years and years....We've helped it along with this cardboard, maybe 16 years ago......
I have taken many pictures of many different family's, over the years.
I am unable to do that now----so, you will just have to take my word for it!
It makes me so happy that they feel safe and protected in this small covered and somewhat hidden area.
Be Still My Heart, They Are So Sweet!

And it's just in time for Mother's Day.
Perfect!

Wishing all of you a wonderful and a truly Blessed Mother's Day.....
Enjoy, Enjoy!

More To Come........

I love seeing birds' nests in the spring; even when they build them in my silk wreath and dive-bomb anyone who dares to enter the porch!!

Happy Mother's Day to you and all your friends, Naomi!

You really are a great landlady. Wonder if they are the same or perhaps offspring of the originals.
I do love doves. They seem so gentle.
So sorry you are struggling Naomi and hope that your health woes give you a break and soon.
Prayers, thoughts, and hugs coming your way.

It will warm your heart to watch the circle of life with that dove family; as similar has done in the past years.

Good for you, Naomi...they're smart birds - they know they've a safe place to grow; a soft place to fall.

Take good care. :)

Brilliant, and surprising they will nest so close to the doorway! Around our way birdies always seem to go as high as possible - usually into roof spaces or deep into shrubs.

A great sign of the springtime!

I think that makes perfect sense for birds to reuse existing nests - my wrens and chickadees won't, so I always have to take the old next out of the birdhouse on my back porch.

Such peaceful photos - love them.

And I hope you are better today. Hugs!

Hi Naomi,

Ah the Doves, I'm so glad they are back! They know a good safe home when they see one. I'm so sorry you are having health issues that are bringing you down so much.

Mother's day was back in March here in the UK. You tend to think every country would have it on the same day a bit like Christmas!

We have families of phoebes that come back every year, over and over. Sometimes they get eaten by a black snake though. It's amazing how the birds can cheer us up. Yours are love birds! Sending good cheer to you, Naomi.

How absolutely sweet. The hills are so dry- the birds are really needing our private garden to survive.
